Reason 6 — Moffatt v. Air Canada: Organisational Responsibility for the AI Agent

In Moffatt v. Air Canada, 2024 BCCRT 149 (14 February 2024), the British Columbia Civil Resolution Tribunal addressed Air Canada’s argument that its website chatbot should be treated as a separate legal entity responsible for its own statements.
